KeepReap helps you capture, translate, and review text you encounter while reading. This page explains what data the KeepReap browser extension and web app collect, why, and how to reach us with questions.
What we collect
When you actively trigger a save or translation, we transmit (a) the text you selected, (b) the URL and title of the page you triggered the action on, and (c) any text you generated through translate or improve actions. We do NOT silently read browsing activity, page content you have not selected, or pages you visit without interacting with KeepReap.
Account data
When you sign in we store your email address, display name, and (for Google sign-in) your Google account ID. Email is used for transactional messages (verification, password reset, billing receipts). We do not sell or rent account data.
Third-party services
Sign-in is handled by Google OAuth. AI features call DeepSeek or OpenAI to perform translation and rewriting on text you submit. Image translation OCR runs through OpenAI Vision. Transactional email (verification, password reset, billing receipts) is sent through Resend. Error reporting uses Sentry; product analytics may use PostHog (without payment data). Billing uses Stripe. Each provider receives only the data needed for its function.
Data retention
Captures, translations, and account data persist until you delete them or close your account. Sentry error events expire after 30 days. Analytics events are aggregated and retained per provider defaults.
Your rights
You may request export or deletion of your data at any time by emailing support@keepreap.com. Within 30 days of confirming your request we remove captures, library items, and personally identifiable account data from active databases.
